Job Title: Private Equity Associate - Consumer Technology

Location: San Francisco, CA / New York, New York

Position Overview: Seeking a driven and analytical Private Equity Associate to join a leading consumer technology investment team in San Francisco. The Associate will play a crucial role in the investment process, focusing on sourcing, evaluating, and managing investments in the consumer tech sector. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with senior team members and contribute to high-impact investment decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify trends and potential investment opportunities in the consumer technology space.
  • Assist in the sourcing of new investment opportunities through networking, industry events, and proactive outreach.
  • Perform detailed financial analysis and modeling, including LBO and valuation analyses, to assess potential investments.
  • Participate in the due diligence process, reviewing financial statements, business plans, and operational metrics.
  • Prepare investment memos and presentations for internal stakeholders and investment committees.
  • Support portfolio management efforts by working with portfolio companies on strategic initiatives and performance improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to monitor and report on portfolio performance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience in private equity, investment banking, or management consulting.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in financial modeling and valuation techniques.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
  • Deep interest in consumer technology and understanding of market dynamics.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with strong attention to detail.
