We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Health Information Specialist to join our Health Information Management team. The Health Information Specialist will be responsible for assisting with the completion of medical records, managing the Rehab Insurance Verification process, demonstrating technical skills, and performing clerical services as assigned. The role aligns with the mission statement of Christian Health. Assist with medical record completion processes: Assembly, Evaluation, Tracking, Filing, Printing, Document Imaging, and destruction of D/C charts. Abstract the daily census and validate data for patient information systems. Gather data to support departmental operations and services. Maintain a complete, accurate, and confidential medical record system for all patients. Generate reports from computerized databases and provide quick retrieval of medical and statistical information. Participate in committees, projects, research studies, and coverage for chart completion as needed. Assist with data entry in systems such as Sigma Care, HCS, and Microsoft Office applications. Manage onsite medical records storage, prepping charts for off-site storage and maintaining tracking lists. Perform other clerical duties as required. Qualifications: At least two years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a HIM department or medical office. Ability to maintain confidentiality and organize workload efficiently. Self-motivated with attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent computer skills, especially with databases and information systems. Professional conduct and strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Schedule: Full-time, 8 am - 4 pm, Monday to Friday. Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
