This role is responsible for basic and/or non-routine preventative and corrective maintenance; maintain and repair machinery and equipment (i.e., forklift, pallet jacks, material handling equipment, etc.) within the distribution facility. May assist with basic building maintenance as required. Responsible for basic and/or non-routine preventative and corrective maintenance; maintain and repair machinery and equipment (i.e., forklift, pallet jacks, material handling equipment, etc.) within the distribution facility. Troubleshoot, diagnose, test and inspect (audibly and visually) equipment to determine need for repair. Dismantle, install and repair parts, electrical apparatus, mechanical systems and/or components of material handling equipment. Assemble and test equipment to ensure correction of necessary repairs and maintenance. Maintain a safe working environment. Assist with basic building maintenance as required. Assist other mechanics with complex general repair as requested. Responsible for the adherence of all maintenance policies and procedures at assigned location. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed. Requirements include a valid Driver’s License, two years mechanical/machinery maintenance experience or related technical school certification, experience with forklift and material handling equipment maintenance and repair a plus, proficiency in the use of mechanical tools, ability to listen to and visually inspect machinery to diagnose maintenance needs, ability to read schematics, ability to safely drive all material handling equipment, good communication skills, punctuality, ability to take direction and work well with others, ability to work under pressure, organize and prioritize work, perform tasks accurately and completely, and flexibility to handle changes in work requirements productively.
