Job Description

Must be Bilingual - As the Fleet & Transportation Assistant, this role will oversee and coordinate our driver team, fleet vehicle maintenance and repairs, regulatory compliance and assist with supply chain logistics. You’ll support operational productivity by fostering professionalism, implementing safe, efficient work practices, and ensuring vehicle reliability. Additionally, you’ll guide and support the driver team.

Responsibilities

  • Led a team of drivers, ensuring compliance with company policies and adherence to all safety regulations.
  • Provide ongoing guidance, support, and direction to drivers in their daily operations.
  • Maintain real-time communication with drivers to proactively address and resolve any issues that arise throughout the workday.
  • Ensure all fleet vehicles meet DOT standards and that daily vehicle inspections are completed accurately and timely.
  • Review and verify issues reported in vehicle inspections; oversee and coordinate necessary maintenance and repairs.
  • Manage driver schedules in alignment with dispatch needs, including on-call rotations and timecard approvals.
  • Develop and maintain a system to track and document driver productivity metrics.
  • Foster a collaborative and team-oriented environment across the driver team and other departments.

  • Excellent leadership, motivation, and communication skills to effectively manage and support a team.
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
  • Working knowledge of supply chain logistics and operational planning.
  • Familiarity with DOT regulations and heavy equipment transport procedures to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Solid understanding of semi-truck maintenance requirements.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish for clear communication with a diverse driver workforce.
