Director of Housekeeping Location Cincinnati, OH (Central Business District area) :

Job Title: Director of Housekeeping

Location: On-site | The Westin Cincinnati, Cincinnati, Ohio.

Job Purpose

To ensure exceptional cleanliness and maintenance across guestrooms, meeting areas, public spaces, and back-of-house at The Westin Cincinnati . This is achieved by effectively training, staffing, and supervising the housekeeping team, managing supplies and expenses efficiently, and consistently improving guest satisfaction through active service monitoring and team leadership.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

As part of the leadership development process, the following responsibilities must be mastered to succeed in this on-site position:

  • Plan, organize, and supervise staff workload to meet cleanliness and maintenance standards through daily inspections of guest rooms and public spaces.
  • Develop and manage the housekeeping and laundry budgets.
  • Implement cost control measures for labor, supplies, and operating expenses.
  • Conduct regular inventory checks of linens, guest supplies, and small equipment.
  • Utilize labor management tools to schedule staff effectively and control labor costs.
  • Flex staffing plans based on forecasted occupancy, food & beverage activity, and group events.
  • Interview, hire, train, and develop team members while managing performance, coaching, and discipline when appropriate.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally in both verbal and written formats with staff and other departments.
  • Address guest concerns promptly to maintain high levels of satisfaction and service quality.
  • Inspect furnishings, fixtures, and décor; recommend and support preventative maintenance and renovation efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with all standard operating procedures (SOPs) for housekeeping and laundry operations.
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA safety standards and company policies.
  • Adhere to attendance expectations and be available for regular on-site work.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of management experience, including 3+ years in a housekeeping leadership role.
  • Experience with in-house laundry operations is required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Thorough understanding of housekeeping and laundry operations.
  • Strong leadership and team collaboration skills.
  • Ability to resolve guest, team, and operational issues efficiently.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to multitask under pressure.
  • Willingness to support team members and work cross-functionally.
  • Knowledge of hotel operations, including budgeting, safety programs, labor management, quality assurance, and long-term planning.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexible communication style to effectively lead a diverse team.

Additional Requirement

Must relocate to Cincinnati, Ohio 45202 prior to starting employment at The Westin Cincinnati.
