Cancer Research Scientist, Microfluidics & Organoid Specialist

We seek a highly skilled and innovative Cancer Research Scientist specializing in microfluidics, biochips, and organoid-on-a-chip technologies. Join our team to pioneer groundbreaking advancements in precision diagnostics, directly impacting cancer patient care. If you have substantial experience in microfluidic system development, biochip engineering, and patient-derived organoid models, this role provides an ideal opportunity to advance your career and significantly improve patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development, optimization, and application of advanced microfluidic devices and biochips for cancer diagnostics.
  • Process and culture patient-derived biopsies into 3D organoid systems within microfluidic environments.
  • Design and execute precise, reproducible experimental protocols focused on organoid-on-a-chip assays.
  • Analyze experimental data meticulously and present detailed, publication-quality reports.
  • Innovate and continuously improve our tumor-on-a-chip technologies through novel microfabrication approaches.
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams of engineers, biologists, and bioinformaticians.
  • Maintain cutting-edge laboratory equipment, troubleshoot experimental setups, and uphold rigorous quality standards.
  • Stay informed about emerging microfluidic and organoid technologies, contributing strategic insights to Encapsulate’s technological roadmap.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • PhD degree in Biomedical Engineering, Bioengineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields with emphasis on microfluidics and biochip technologies. A masters degree with extensive work experience is acceptable too.
  • Extensive hands-on experience in microfluidic device design, fabrication, and characterization.
  • Proven expertise in 3D mammalian cell culture, particularly patient-derived tumor organoid models.
  • Proficient in microscopy techniques, especially fluorescence microscopy and advanced imaging analysis.
  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills, with proven ability to document and communicate scientific results.
  • Demonstrated excellence in problem-solving, attention to detail, and experimental rigor.
  • Proactive, innovative mindset capable of independently driving projects forward in a collaborative team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced experience with biofabrication techniques and microfabrication tools (soft lithography, photolithography, rapid prototyping).
  • Familiarity with AI-driven biochip analytics, sequencing technologies, bioinformatics, and biostatistics.
  • Experience in assay automation and integration of microfluidic systems for clinical applications.
